Talk about an unforgettable networking experience! Recently, I attended a networking event, which coincided with my birthday. Little did I know, the organizer had a surprise up her sleeve.

In a twist I never saw coming, I was called up on stage, and to my utter surprise (and a bit of embarrassment), the entire room burst into a chorus of "Happy Birthday!" 🎂 Standing there, amidst the sea of faces—some familiar, many new—I felt a blend of astonishment and gratitude.

After the song, I was asked to introduce myself to the audience. For someone who’s naturally more reserved, this was quite the spotlight moment! But it turned out to be a fantastic ice-breaker. I shared a bit about myself and my journey, and then gratefully retreated to the comfort of my seat.

Reflecting on this experience, I realized it was more than just a birthday surprise. It was a lesson in embracing the unexpected and finding joy in moments of vulnerability. It made me appreciate the power of community and the warmth of well-intentioned gestures.”

“The networking event was great to meet with others face-to-face who I had been going through in the application journey together. It was wonderful to connect in a new way and also meet and talk with others who are in various stages of their applications to work within the Swiss market.

I was nervous at first, but everyone was so friendly. They were there for the same reason: to meet and speak with other professionals.

Claudia was great at checking in during the evening, guiding me towards specific people she thought would be great for me to meet.

It was also lovely to listen to the various speakers and then interact in group coaching workshops afterwards. Overall, I made several new contacts within the industry I am in, and had a good time overall.
